Coast/Beach
There are miles of sandy beaches within 10 minutes’ drive, and the resorts of Gandia, Oliva, Denia, Javea along with others are also not far. Some beaches are quite rural with just a few facilities; others have bars, restaurants and sunbeds etc.
Golf
There are numerous golf courses in the vicinity. The closest golf course is an 18 hole golf course at Oliva Nova (approx 10 mins drive). There is also an excellent Golf Course called La Sella at the Denia Marriott Hotel, approx 20 mins drive away.
Distances
Pego is 3 kilometers from the apartment and has banks, supermarkets and a weekly market. Denia is approximately 10 kilometers, has more every day facilities, beaches, marina and restaurant and gives access to ferries for Ibiza. Day boat trips run in the summer to Javea and Moraira. There are markets nearby almost every day of the week including Sundays. Valencia and Alicante are approx. 90 kilometers away but are easily reached by train and are well worth visiting.
About Monte Pego:
If you haven’t heard of Monte Pego, then become part of a small group that will benefit from all that we have to offer. Monte Pego is a little secret that once discovered you will treasure! (and hopefully share!)
Situated about half way down the coast of Spain, Monte Pego is equidistant from both Alicante and Valencia airports. Whilst focused on tourism the area is a commercial area servicing the orange and citrus fruit industry, in addition a strong local focus on terracotta products allows for traditional industries to exist. The additional benefit of this is that the area is ‘alive’ 52 weeks of the year, and does not ‘switch off’ at the end of the normal school holiday period in September, so bars and cafes are still open in order for you to sit out in glorious Autumn or Spring Summer and make believe that you are enjoying the very best summers day that we all experienced in our youth!
Established as having a superb climate all the year round, with exceptionally clear nights, wonderful light, leading to a beautiful night sky allows for peace and quiet whilst totally relaxing in the joy of silence. Excellent views of meteor showers, the Mediterranean, allow for perfect rest and relaxation.
The nearby ‘parent’ village of Pego is in itself a beautiful mix of local life and traditional Spanish village culture. Pego village provides at least three supermarkets and a weekly market.
Roads are not congested and lead to 40 Kilometers of golden sand, and rich blue Mediterranean Sea, all only 10 minutes’ drive away from our wonderful site.
There are regular local fiestas, which brings Spanish history into life through a cacophony of music, fireworks and incredibly spectacular street parades.
Oliva market on Friday is well worth a visit, but all local markets provide a rich selection of local fare.
The local love of Tour de Espania is reflected in well laid out and safe cycle routes, all off the road.
Monte Pego gives easy access to shops, stores, bars and restaurants, at least three outstanding golf courses, banks, tennis courts and nearby medical centres and hospitals. Ten minutes away is the ‘La Marina’ shopping center that offers fashion, furniture, entertainment, and food.
A few minutes’ drive towards the sea brings you to the bustling and historic fishing port of Denia, with its beautiful village houses, squares and cleans white blue-flag sandy beaches, from which the Costa Blanca takes its name.
Monte Pego keeps you away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, calm tranquil clean fresh air with outstanding views to the sea and wonderful nature reserve.
